HOW IT WORKS

How to Play

To play a Blended Play game, you first need

a set of questions.

Questions can be created two ways:

Directly in the game - Select any of the games and click on New Game. From there, set-up your game and write your questions. Don’t forget to save your questions if you want to reuse them later. Once saved, they will appear in your member’s area game page.

In the database – Click on the Add New button in the database and enter your questions in the form. Once you have saved your questions, you will need to select a game and click on Load Game to see them appear in a game.

Don’t forget to share your questions to the community and search for existing game files in your subject area. If you find one you like, you can copy it to your account.

Printing questions: In the game, click on the Print button to open a printable copy of your question set.

Space Sale

Type of game : Every team answers on each question.

Goal : Rebuild your spaceship the fastest.

Each group of players answer the question on each turn. A correct answer awards them money that they accumulate to buy spaceship pieces in the store. At any point during the game, the players can visit the Space Store to buy the missing pieces of their space ship. The team who can rebuild their spaceship the fastest wins.

Strategy angle: Players need to decide when to spend their money on which piece of the space ship as a poorly managed budget can make the difference between a victory and a loss.

Type of game: Each team answers a question on their turn.

Goal: Find all the viking boats and get the most points.

Strategy angle: If a team does not answer the ship or the sea monster question correctly, the next team can select the same square and steal their point.

Sushi Take Over

Type of game: Each team answers a question on their turn.

Goal: Capture the most space on the table.

On their turn, a group of players select a space on the table that they want to occupy. If they answer the question correctly, they win the space and one of their sushi is placed on the table. If they get 4 spaces in a square, their small sushi will evolve into a King Sushi which is worth more points. The team with the most point at the end of the game wins.

Strategy angle: To block another team, a team can decide to use a piece of wasabi which will block all other teams from taking that space. To remove the wasabi, another team must use their ginger on the space during their turn. They are then able to take the space on their next turn. Each team has one ginger and one wasabi to use during a game.

Neptune Dash

Type of game: Each team answers a question on their turn.

Goal: Race your seahorse to the finish line to win the race.

Each group of players answer the question on each turn. With each correct answer, the player’s seahorses will race to the finish line. The first team(s) to arrive at the end win the game. Each team is able to use a turbo button once in the game. Once triggered, the player’s seahorse stops moving. The team must answer the next two questions correctly which will then propel their seahorse 3 spaces forward. If the team misses one of the questions, they lose their turbo and continue racing from the position they occupied when they selected the turbo.

Strategy angle: Each team must weigh the risk and reward of triggering the turbo button too early or too late. While it can propel a team to a quick victory, it can also make them completely lose their advantage if a question is answered incorrectly.
